Baked Apples - Pommes Au Four
What’s for dessert? I have to admit I am not a master in desserts making – there are still lots for me to learn. Baked apples is one of the easiest French desserts that I have learnt and could think of to win over time. Baked apples is a typical dessert from Normandy. You may know that Normandy region in France is famous for apples, cheeses, ciders, dairy products.. not forget for its famous seafood too!
To make baked apples, it’s important to have good quality of apples. The sweetness of the apples brings out this dish that you could ever imagine. I like to serve my baked apples slightly chilled. However, baked apples are usually served at room temperature. Raisins that I put to make baked apples are optional. The original baked apples are cooked without raisins added.
For the Baked Apples – Pommes Au Four:
4 cooking apples

1 tbsp cinnamon powder

1. Remove the core of each apple with an apple corer. Rinse and use a fork to lightly poke around them and transfer to a baking dish.
2. Pour the water and sprinkle the water on the apples. Stuff each apple with equal amount of raisins.
3. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180ºC for about 30 minutes or the flesh is soft when poke with a knife.
