Fruits

This week seems to last forever. I am so glad that weekend is soon, which means I can sleep in a little. I know this is not related to what I wanted to post today. However, I just feel better after writing it out to denote the beginning of the weekend.

I believe most people love fruits. There are lots of fruits that I love but I have recently been eating lots ofΒ Clementines andΒ Lychees. Seedless Clementines are what I usually opt for as they make the whole eating process more pleasant! As much as I like them to be sweet, I do sometimes like them a little bit acidic.

I never had fresh Lychees until recent years. Mom says they are ‘heaty’ fruits. I remember eating them in syrup (they came in the tin) when I was young – just as delicious. If you ask me which I prefer, I’d probably say those in the syrup as they don’t have seeds in them. πŸ˜€Β What are your favourite fruits? Have you been eating some specific fruits recently that you feel like you can’t live without? Share with me. πŸ™‚

Ooh fresh *sweet* lychees for me anytime over the tinned ones πŸ™‚ But what I really, really love is mango. Unfortunately I just don’t get good ones here πŸ™ Most of the mangoes in the UK come from the Caribbean which taste totally different from the ones in Asia (especially Indonesia and Balinese mangoes… *drool*). Of course, having flown such a long distance, they also tend to be unripe or just never ripen. Bah. I’ve given up buying mangoes here :p

Ah lychees they are quite new for me as well. Haven’t had any yet this year but am enjoying the clementines, so very sweet. I also love nectarines.

Wow… these photos are amazing, seriously! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am really impressed with yours. I need to look at it some more but I like it a lot!
I have been eating tons and tons of Anjou pears this year. Can’t tell you why this year more than ever but that’s what I’ve been eating. I’m also enjoying rhubarb and strawberries right now.

  • [Nilmandra] I love mangoes too. Even so, I haven’t bought any in the UK before! I should try to get one and to see how different the taste is. I am not sure if they import from India, apparently they are good.
I will let you know if I could find those from SE Asia. I wonder if I could geg them in Chinatown.

[Pixie] *Hi5* Another fan of Clementines πŸ™‚

[Aran] Thank you! I love your blog and you are very talented in making desserts! Ah, I have never tried Anjou pears. I will try them next time I go to France, I wonder they sell these in the UK ….

Rhubarb is another good fruit, yum!! And Strawberries… double yum…. I love all the berries πŸ™‚

  • Mandy,
Thank you! Fresh once are great I have to admit as those in tins are usually taste strong syrup.

  • Kristin,

White grapes are good. Ah, talking about strawberries, did you remember the punnet of strawberries? Did you finish them all by yourself?

  • Kristin says:
